Ditchling Magic Map
Dear all, welcome to the Ditchling Magic Map project.

The idea of the Magic Map project is to quest for magical places around Ditchling, and then to make art and tell stories about them. Hopefully, we'll be able to bring the art and stories together at the end into a Magic Map, so even though we can't see each other right now, we can be telling stories together.
On these pages you will find clues to different places throughout Ditchling. At the places you will find a password - written on a rock and on a ribbon.

You can then enter these passwords into the clue pages to find some magic map quests that will help you to make art and stories.

For each place you can do as many of the activities as you like, and you can go to as many places as you want. Any stories or art you'd like to share, send it to us and we'll share it on the place page and on our virtual map.

BEFORE YOU START, PLEASE READ THESE SIMPLE MAGIC MAP RULES BELOW

We'll be releasing the place clues in threes. You don't have to do the spots in order - in fact, it's better if you don't, to avoid over-crowding at each spot.

When you find the password, you can either unlock the Quest Page on the spot on a phone or tablet, or go back home to open it. There are instructions for both option - just do whatever works best for you.

If you arrive and the spot is already busy, please just respect social distancing and wait until there is space to explore.

For some of the quests we are asking people to make art and leave it back at the spot. If you do this, please make sure that everything you leave is made of natural, biodegradable materials.

You will find things at the spots left by us and other map makers. These are all there to find and look at, but please just look from afar and try to avoid handling any of the objects, to keep us all as safe as possible.

Please remember that while the places may be wild for us, they are the homes of many animals and birds. Please treat their homes with respect, don't leave any mess behind you.

Parents, please make sure your children are accompanied on the quests - some of them are in the village centre, but others are on the edge of the village and younger ones will definitely need adults with them to explore.

Lastly, we wish you wonderful map making and enjoy the quests!
